The city Essen

• The largest part of the Essener city center is a pedestrian zone today. Approximately 800 business and department stores make Essen a shopping city, which does not leave desires open. Trendy fashion boutiques, noble jewelry shops, exclusive design studios and noble furniture houses line up and offer extensive shopping possibilities. Occasionally you can sit inside one of the numerous cafés or restaurants in the city center with a latte macchiato or an espresso while plannig the further day or sightseeing of objects of interest.   Essen lies in the middle of the Rhine Ruhr region and is attached to an efficient transportation network. Optimal traffic routes, e.g. bus and trains are available so that you can reach Essen by country, water and from the air. By the way: Essen has approximately 12,650 parking lots for PKW’s, which make a city-stroll or a shopping tour still more pleasant and more stress-free for you.
